Rebels and Lords
By Matthew Leverton
Game Background
Our Take
Gather your troops and go to war! Take over
the weak Rebel castles and use them to
attack the opposing Lords. It's every person
for himself, so don't count on getting any help
from the others. To survive, you'll need to use
strategy and trickery. The last Lord standing wins
the right to live.
Considering this game is almost a complete clone of an old C64 game, it's no surprise that it looks like a classic. Despite the 320x200 resolution, a lot happens on the single screen. The lack of AI means you're going to need a few buddies to play with, but that shouldn't be a problem since you can go to the War Room and play online.

Desert of Doom
By Dustin Dettmer and Inphernic
Game Background
Our Take
The demons are going mad! As an angel, you
must battle the unknown evil force that is
driving them. To do so, you'll need to
make your way through three desert levels. The
closer you get to it, the harder it is
to proceed. The demons start getting really
nasty, and it's up to you to banish them back
to hell.
The game looks and sounds very much like a gameboy game. Everything about it is randomly generated, so you'll never play the same game twice. It's a simple game, but winning is no walk in the park. The magic you can fire takes a little bit of time to recharge, so you might as well rest your trigger finger. You'll need to be able to time and dodge if you want to end up on top.

Fire Starter
By Marcello Bastéa-Forte
Game Background
Our Take
What goes up must come down. It's time to be a trouble
maker and apply that to your city. Score big points by burning
the whole thing down. But don't think you're going to be
allowed to just set fire at your own leisure. The police
are out to get you, and the fire fighters are at hand
quenching the flames.
With a green palette and a low resolution, it definitely has the look of an old classic. Having no goal, but to achieve a high score also adds to the feel.
Honorable mention: Dark Light Battles, AntiMeteors, Home Planet Defender, Peacefighter, Get The Fruit, Dungeoneer, Molly and her Bicycle Pump
