Just got time to get down to work
My initial basic idea is farming crops and writing your own almanac that decides the weather for the year. Perhaps rain and noisy aliens will be involved. We shall see.

Getting somewhere?
The bad news is I've spent most of today putting together a state machine. The good news is it's complete and I have a splash screen that fades in and an exit screen that fades out. Not much to see yet, but it should go much faster now that's up and running. Still need particle effects, text interaction, but I have something to take care of as well as some super obnoxious sounds. Stay tuned for more updates!

Will continue tomorrow
Well I've managed to get a credits screen mostly working. Yes I know I'm writing the game backwards, but I still hope to have some kind of gameplay by tomorrow. Gotta call it quits for today though. I'm beat.

Tile map up and running
I spent the better part of today implementing a layered tile map, but I finally have some screen action to share. Now I need to implement a player and enemies and have them interact with the map.

Got Some Aliens Walking Around
Well it looks like this is as far as I will get. Only just under two hours left and not much time to implement anything.
Would like to keep working on this for a while, as it seems to show promise for gameplay once I get far enough along.
Worked on my entry about 29 hours total but I'm still missing some features and it's not really finished. Had trouble with finding good assets like a tractor and Blender decided not to work so I don't have a main player character yet. I should work on the console next I suppose.
Well I'm satisfied, I got a lot done, even if it's not finished. 72 hours is not a lot of time. It would take me probably a week of straight work to get all the features I wanted into the game. Oh well, see if I can finish next year.
Will submit here in a bit, just to show what I've got so far. There is a splash screen, tile map and aliens, credits, and an exit splash that fades out.

Obnoxious sounds added in
I found the time to make my aliens make awful noises and wander around aimlessly. I will be submitting my entry now.
