SpeedHack

Rule-O-Matic

Results

Most Insane

This Rule-O-Matic asked that the speedhackers create an insane game. One could easily argue that all Speedhack games are insane, but these ones really are.

  1. Spiked Fruits

    By Robert Jr Ohannessian

    Game Background

screenshot As a hyperintelligent sentient cloud from another dimension, your goal is to eat all the fruit before the timer runs out. But there is a catch: the fruit is spiked. As you eat it, your vision is affected, making it hard to continue on. The game can also be played by two players simultaneously via a split screen. In that mode, the fruit you eat affects the other player.

    Our Take

As the screenshot shows, the various effects of the spiked fruits can be quite crazy. The more fruit you eat, the more your screen starts twisting and spinning.

  2. Lobotomy

    By Dani

    Game Background

screenshot In Lobotomy, each one of the two players control a different side of the brain. The two sides are connected, so in order to be successful, they must work together. The goal is to collect as many blue balls as you can, while avoiding the red ones. The better this is done, the longer you will stay alive.

    Our Take

The game is as insane as it sounds. Each of the two players must communicate in order to move their respective "magnetic" balls in a way to collect the blue balls. You cannot directly control yourself—you need the help of your partner in order to get where you want to go.

  3. Sanity Invaders

    By kdevil

    Game Background

screenshot You control a spaceship that has to take out an entire alien fleet. You start off completely sane, which means you are invincible. However, if you get hit enough, you eventually go insane. At that point, your controls get messed up and you can take damage. While insane, you also fire bananas and might run across a cow or two. A second player can help out by shooting via a mouse-controlled crosshair.

    Our Take

It starts off looking like a standard space shooter, but once you go insane, it quickly turns into something crazy. Playing with reversed controls will test your sanity.

Honorable mention: A Snail's Tail, Ahuillet, Banana Combat, Fole and Raul Go Bananas
