Rule-O-Matic

Results

Best Overall

This category is a showcase of the games that best captured the spirit of the rules and were still fun to play! That can be quite a challenge, but here are the games that had it all.

  1. Spiked Fruits

    By Robert Jr Ohannessian

    Game Background

screenshot As a hyperintelligent sentient cloud from another dimension, your goal is to eat all the fruit before the timer runs out. But there is a catch: the fruit is spiked. As you eat it, your vision is affected, making it hard to continue on. The game can also be played by two players simultaneously via a split screen. In that mode, the fruit you eat affects the other player.

    Our Take

While staying simplistic in nature, Spiked Fruits is still able to pack all the Speedhack rules together in a sensible way. The rules are essential to the game, from the timer to the fruits to the insanity.

  2. Rambanana

By Victor Williams Stafusa da Silva, André Luiz Pereira Álvares, and Luiz Fernando Alves dos Santos

    Game Background

screenshot It's time for all you Rambananas to enter the arena and join the deathmatch. Armed with a variety of weapons, it's your goal to take out the others before they get you. If you take too long, monkey Macacone might try to take a bite of you. You also have to worry about turning black and rotting, so you better pay attention!

    Our Take

It's a classic four-way split screen deathmatch done within the spirit of the Speedhack rules. The gameplay is rather unoriginal, but the banana characters give it a new look.

  3. Fole and Raul Go Bananas

    By Amarillion and Max

    Game Background

screenshot By day, Fole and Raul are ordinary furry little animals, but by night, they pick up their bazookas and go bananas! They go from place to place, looking for bananas to collect. They only have so much time to find them all, so they better hurry. To complicate things, monsters are often hanging out nearby.

    Our Take

The game definitely looks insane, taking place in a banana filled space cheese. However, the gameplay is quite straightforward as you move from room to room via doors and teleports, looking for bananas while avoid the monsters.

Honorable mention: Bob 'n Rob, Fruit of the Loomsoft, Banana Combat, Sketch Fighter
